Care Corps


BUS MINISTRY

Provide transportation to worship and other church activities for attendees who cannot drive or are without transportation. Greatest need is on Sunday mornings. Church busses are utilized.


Requires some training but Commercial Driver’s License is not required.


BEREAVEMENT

Assist at funerals, greet, usher, reception


CARD MINISTRY

Send card monthly


FEED MY SHEEP

Cooking meals as needed


HOMEBOUND COMMUNION

Once-per-month


FLOWER MINISTRY

Assist with arranging altar flowers into smaller bouquets on Mondays. (skills needed)


Deliver the flowers to those hospitalized, homebound, or living in care facility .(persons are selected by the weekly flower delivery team)


Ensure the person knows you represent the church and bring Christ’s love to them.


Time commitment: varies based on number of arrangements available, but approximately 1-2 hours per month (different team delivers weekly)


HOSPITAL VISITS

Represent the church by sharing Christ’s love with the one hospitalized as well as any family/friends who may be present.


Be a non-anxious presence to those hospitalized or preparing for surgery.


After a brief visit, offer to pray with the person(s).


Submit visitation report.

Time commitment varies dependent upon number on team, i.e. frequency of visits, and number of members/patients. Protocol will be sent to those who will visit.

PRAYER CHAIN

Join other members of the congregation in praying for specific needs and persons.

Communication of names/needs is done via email—weekly list is distributed in addition to emails as needs arise throughout the week.

STEP ONE:

Register with Safe Gatherings

Go to safegatherings.com


  • Click on the red Get Started button at the top of the page.
  • Fill out the online application

Safe Gatherings will go to work processing the background check and reaching out to the applicant's designated references.

STEP TWO:

Complete the Safe Gatherings training course:

This is approximately 60-90 minute presentation of information on safety guidelines and best practices. Can be done in steps at your convenience. Persons will take a test at the end of this training.


STEP THREE:

Complete a TRUSTed con Confianza session.  This is a 30-minute interactive training on safely guidelines and best practices as defined by the Rio Texas conference for ministry in our churches, districts, and beyond.  This training will become available via a link on your Safe gatherings dashboard once you have completed step two of the process.  You will need to complete this module in one sitting as it does not save our progress and will require you to start over if you navigate away from the training window.  


Recertification (every two years)

RECERTIFICATION (every two years)

Trusted certification lasts two years. 90 days prior to the expiration of your certification, Safe Gatherings staff will contact you regarding your upcoming renewal. For information on the recertification process check out: steps for recertification.
